Hi, I'm Joane Thompson, and I'm currently a 4th-year Communications student with a concentration in Design & Marketing at Simon Fraser University. My passion lies in designing illustrations and creating content.

My previous experience as a Design and Marketing Associate allows me to creatively express myself through my designs and explore future career options. As a Design and Marketing Associate, I'm well versed in using Adobe Creative Suite to creatively design and take on organization-wide projects such as implementing a Student Recruitment Strategy. Not only that, my role as a content creator allows me to network with industry professionals and creative individuals in order to collaborate on personal projects.

As a contract Graphic/UI designer, I use industry-standard tools to build and contribute to the client's design system. When building the suite of applications, it's important to have a common design language that's well-documented and easy to follow (that's the design system!). I use tools such as Adobe XD and Sketch to build beautiful UI components that are consistent with the client's design language. From creating button & icon libraries to interactive mock-ups of the client's suite of applications, every element I design contributes to creating an intuitive, elegant, and easy-to-use product.

Whether I'm part of a team or working independently, I'm always eager to adopt new technology and bring my creative and analytic mind to my work.
